Show #001: Where’s Poochie?

As promised, here’s the “Podcast News, Part II” we hinted at two posts ago

Seeing as we appear to be the last two people on the planet without their own podcast, we’ve decided to finally drink the Kool-Aid and start one. Because what the world was missing was one more “two guys sitting around, talking about whatever” podcast, right?

So join us as we dive head first into the 128kbps waters with our brand new podcast:

Paul and Storm Talk About Some Stuff for Five to Ten Minutes (On Average)

In this inaugural (and, who knows, possibly final) episode, entitled “Where’s Poochie?“, we cover basic podcasting theory, our need for constant feedback, obsessions fantastic and mundane, eating habits, meat-generating technology, and other topics that might possibly be mildly interesting to we’re not sure who.

NOTE: the podcast plugin we’re using is not playing entirely nicely with the other .mp3-playing plugin we use elsewhere on the site. So far, this has manifested itself thusly: a) a number of extra little “play” buttons in this post (for some browsers, at least); and b) the streaming player, which should appear at the bottom of this post, doesn’t appear until you click the “Play Now” link below. We’re aware of the problem, and are working on fixing it. But the annoyance should be minor at worst. Thanks for withholding your vitriol over the matter.

UPDATE: This podcast will be forthcoming in iTunes. Alternately, here is the reg’lar ol’ feed. Or you can click on the orange icon thingy:

UPDATE #2: In theory, the streaming player should now be visible above by default. If anyone is still having trouble with it, please let us know.

I’ll ask first, because some one’s going to: Do you fellas plan on having a podcast feed? or being in iTunes podcast directory with said feed?

    Yes to both.

    In theory, at least.

That was quite an enjoyable 5 to 10 minutes (on average). I’ll listen to you two yammer on any day.

Storm had me laughing when he started talking about creating meat in a box. Heh.

Definitely keep this up. How can you beat a podcast that talks about geek crushes and cubed meat??

No surprise that it ended with tubed meats…always got a fit in the dick jokes don’t ya?… even without realizing it…. anyway…glad that you are doing this because you are entertaining persons. Thank you for podcasting. You are just getting started….

Add my vote to the ‘keep it up’ pile. It made 16:07 minutes of my work day more amusing and I am now much more informed about life insurance and artificial meats. Can you really ask for more in a podcast?

You seem to be missing an awesome creative opportunity. I smell a “Weird Al” style obsession song in the making. (Re: Felicia Day)

This was great; I hope you guys keep on doing the podcast so I can listen to it over lunch at work.

Paul, you eat like Gordon: the no fruits or vegetables kind of thing. I don’t know how you two do it.

The Guild rocks! After that and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, I would agree that one should <333 Felicia Dey.

Err, my comment seems to have disappeared. I don’t know if it was marked as spam accidentally or what – maybe too many links.

The crux of it was, I suggested using the podPress plugin for WordPress, the use of the word “netcast” so people don’t get confused and thing they need an iPod as happens often with “podcast” and that tater tots, onion rings, and chips can all be counted as vegetables, as they originate from potatoes and onions.

If you podcast, I will listen.

It’s like “My Dinner With Andre” for the rest of us!

I liked it. In addition to the random stuff you guys end up talking about, I’d like to hear more about all the things you guys are doing to become more famous, and maybe even more about touring and the creative process for coming up with songs. While there’s nothing wrong with a podcast about nothing, there’s also no reason it couldn’t be about something some of the time too, right? šŸ™‚

  18. Posted August 11, 2008 at 2:15 pm | Permalink

Yeah, it’s a good podcast. I like it, in the same way that I like the random topics brought up in Kevin Smith / Scott Mosier’s SModcast, and it’s a fraction of the length (so I can listen to the whole thing during a break!).

I think you guys totally missed the perfect opportunity to play the theme song you wrote for yourselves during Song Fu! I love that song, and it would work out great as the theme song for your P&Scast!
