New Song: “Thanksgiving”

What did you say? An actual new original song from Paul and Storm? Is it the End Times?

Nope; it’s just Thanksgiving. (For those of you outside America, Thanksgiving is a US holiday invented by the Cranberry Sauce lobby) It started out as a heartfelt attempt to write a song about the things we are thankful for, and then evolved into…well, let’s just say it took a bit of a turn.

Special thanks to Aubrey Webber from The Doubleclicks for her fine doleful cello work.

Listen below, and buy it in our store.

Happy Imminent Onslaught of Holidays, everyone!

Never before has a song so completely captured my feelings on a subject.

I have never heard a song that more perfectly encapsulated my own feelings toward the constant Lucasian fuckery with the original trilogy. Thank you, gentlemen.

I will hum this throughout Thanksgiving, the second most beautiful holiday of the month after Life Day.

Tears in my eyes…because the song is beautiful and because part of my childhood dies everytime he meddles with that Holy Trilogy. Thank you for speaking up.

Until this year, our only traditional family Thanksgiving song has been “Alice’s Restaurant”. We’ve now added a second song to the rotation. Thanks, P&S!

George Lucas is a businessman, not an artist or an entertainer. He’s making $$$ off his reboots, and $$$ off “The Phantom Menace” and the other new episodes. If you don’t like Lucas Film products, then boycott them. Or stop buying them. I don’t get the point of all this complaining. It’s like complaining that “I can’t believe it’s not butter!” isn’t butter. Yup, it’s not butter. So what? Support film-makers whose products you like.

This felt very “Simon and Garfunkel” to me (and I mean that in a good way).

Introduced to you guys via Scalzi and “Fuzzy Man” (which I clipped down to a ringtone, thank you for freaking out my coworkers :D), must say I’m a fan. Keep it up!

ZOMG…. Guys, you have hit it out of the ballpark *again*. This is simply stunning. Between this and the Easter Song I think you may become the official Geek Holiday Song Masters For All Eternity… *grin*

    Thank you.
    Perfect.

“Dear FSM, I am thankful for Paul and Storm and Wil and turkey and Joss and Twitter and all of my #FirstWorldProblems, and please bring me a pony and a plastic rocket…”

Yes! I want there to be a video that is nothing but George Lucas’ face as he listens to this song in headphones for the first time.

Watched Storm play it this evening. He’s playing in A, capoed up 4, which means it comes out in C#. The chords as played are what you’d expect: A, Amaj7, A7, D, Dm, A, etc.

Wow abby white knighting much? That being said yeah this is an amazing song. Very much sums up my thoughts on the ritual sacrifice of art in the name of profit, very obvious in the case of Star Wars or even Indiana Jo- wait… that NEVER HAPPENED!!! I REFUSE!

Really loved hearing this live at last night’s show in San Francisco. Buying a copy right now!

A year later, George Lucas no longer owns Star Wars. Mission accomplished.
