Our third CD, Gumbo Pants, is here.
Hey, guys – just got back from the Birchmere show and it was awesome, as your shows always are! (My husband and I actually got up the courage to go say hi after, so you might even have some vague idea of who we are among the 400 other people who probably also stopped by after the show…I was wearing an “Opening Band” shirt and my husband is the genius behind the “Epithets” WoW video.) And when I got home, I found that my PayPal payment (made on Monday) had finally cleared and I was able to download Gumbo Pants, so bonus!
I do have one suggestion/request for future shows: aside from the “If…” songs and the “Easter Song” from “News to Us”, you didn’t actually do anything you haven’t done at the Jammin’ Java shows in the last year or so. Much as I love the Randy Newman themes and the commercial jingles and “Six Guys, Ten Teeth”, it have would been really nice to get some of the other new songs from the CD, or even old ones from “News” that we haven’t heard live: “Jimmy Hoffa”, for instance…or how about “Hot Monkey Love”? Would have been a perfect companion to “Code Monkey”. (Hot Code Monkey Love?)
Oh, who am I kidding? You could use the same set list every time and I’d still show up. So thanks for yet another awesome evening!
Like the commenter above, I also just returned from the Birchmere show. This is at least my third or fourth time seeing you perform post- DVN, and as always, you guys were phenomenal. No matter how many times I listen to your recorded music, it’s always a hilarious and thoroughly fantastic experience to come hear you live.
I was grateful to have you sign my copy of Opening Band this year in Rochester, and now I’m glad to have a freshly minted, freshly signed copy of Gumbo Pants. It is, in fact, filled with goodies both new and familiar.
If I were ever to offer criticism, I can think of only one: Your song “Nugget Man” inspired me to look up “reconstituted meat slurry” and learn how it’s made. I was probably happier when I didn’t know.
I am proud to call myself a Paul and Storm Trooper, and I look forward to seeing you guys the next time you bring your sounds back to the DC area. Catch you later!
[...] If I haven’t already said it, Paul and Storm’s new CD “Gumbo Pants” sounds great, and is now officially on sale – many happy Paul and Storm fans walked away with shiny new copies they bought last night, and are probably having more fun than you are right now because they are listening to it. You know what to do. [...]
[...] sold out, but it was close (beware the power of nerdcore). Paul & Storm have a new CD out, which was good, because I like them, but they can wear thin with repetition. They went over [...]
