@CarolinaWolfie: So yeah, this is me, @CarolinaWolfie. So first, as my user name kind of implies, I’m a dog person. I travel with Simba, a black Labrador service dog. She’s way up there on the cute scale. She’s tiny, but don’t let that fool you. She’s kind of like me, mostly quiet with occasional bursts of energy and affection. I have two kids–both boys–and they are both awesome young men. I have blond hair and hazel eyes. This week’s episode: Storm is on vacation (and without reliable Netterwebs access), so special guest Jonathan Coulton fills in (while on vacation himself) for a lengthy discussion of vacation theory and practice; directed, organized vacationing vs. aimless, sedentary vacationing and resulting family tensions; houseguests and mixed metaphors; horrible, horrible sunburns; and Jonathan answers a question he hasn’t publicly answered before regarding his music.

Also, Jonathan apologizes for the various pops and clicks and sound issues on his track, as he only could record on his laptop microphone, and he apparently didn’t care enough to make it sound any better. Anyway, he completely absolves Paul of any responsibility for the sound issues.

Also also, the “echo-y” sound you hear is because we record the podcast while on the phone with each other, and there’s a brief delay between when one person speaks and the other hears it. In this case, Jonathan was kinda loud in Paul’s earpiece.  This is also Jonathan’s fault, somehow.

Paul and Storm Talk About Some Stuff for Five to Ten Minutes (On Average)

In this inaugural (and, who knows, possibly final) episode, entitled “Where’s Poochie?“, we cover basic podcasting theory, our need for constant feedback, obsessions fantastic and mundane, eating habits, meat-generating technology, and other topics that might possibly be mildly interesting to we’re not sure who.

NOTE: the podcast plugin we’re using is not playing entirely nicely with the other .mp3-playing plugin we use elsewhere on the site. So far, this has manifested itself thusly: a) a number of extra little “play” buttons in this post (for some browsers, at least); and b) the streaming player, which should appear at the bottom of this post, doesn’t appear until you click the “Play Now” link below. We’re aware of the problem, and are working on fixing it. But the annoyance should be minor at worst. Thanks for withholding your vitriol over the matter.
