@Brandon F
Thanks a lot. Now I'm totally craving carne asada fries. Fortunately I only have to wait two weeks before I'm in San Diego again.

Squee! Only two weeks until P&S and carne asada fries!

Hopefully you guys recover in time from the Poutine in order to dig into some carne asada fries, a san diego specialty. Fries loaded with guac, sour cream, loads of cheese (often nacho style), carne, jalepenos, and of course good ol' fashioned grease. Yummmm.

If you want to better support your local cardiologist, I have a "black market" source of poutine sauce mix available (my in-laws live in Quebec). You're on your own to find the curd cheese, but we've been lucky recently to find a cheddar variety at Trader Joe's, which works well (it's not the real thing, but it'll do). Poutine is quite addictive; it's the only food that requires actual cooking skills (measuring water and stirring sauce) that my 16-year-old son willingly makes. When we visit the in-laws, he moves into the nearby McPoutine and we pick him up on our way home (well, he would if we'd let him).
