I have a thing about stepping on coloured patterns as well. Except I do it subconsciously and it DOES ruin my day if I do.

Drives my gf nuts.

What about interviewing Felicia Day? After all, "Felica Watch" and "Acknowledgment Day" both started via the podcast.

The one superstition I follow is never saying the true name of 'The Scottish Play' in a theatre. In fact, unless I'm having a literary discussion re: Shakespeare, I'm hesitant to say the title even though it's fairly simple to cancel out the curse. That's what I get for working in a theatre for so long I guess.

We're definitely going to Oak Park to go FLW hunting (as well as Robie House etc.) Any particularly good food there we should look for?

Catigny looks interesting, too, though we'll have to see how easy it is to get there by public trans.

Interview: Adam Savage
Chicago: If you have a time and a car (or willingness to take a long train ride), head out to Oak Park and tour the Frank Lloyd Wright homes there. Check in at the FLW Home and Studio (wrightplus.org), tour that, then take a tour of the dozen+ houses in the immediate neighborhood. You can walk yourself or pay for a guided tour. (Full disclosure: my uncle may be your tour guide.) I'd also recommend hopping over to see Unity Temple; Wright's public architecture is just as, if not more, impressive than his residential work. Also, the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway is in Oak Park. If you don't have time to go to Oak Park but still want a FLW fix, the Robie House is closer to downtown.

If you are looking for something Chicago that is a little different I would actually look just outside Chicago to Cantigny.\

http://www.cantigny.org/

It is very Chicago in that the grounds house the McCormick museum. It is also guy and girl friendly in that that there are incredible gardens and the First division museum. I used to go there with the scouts as a kid and climb on the tanks.

Bingham fluids, from Gordon: A non-Newtonian fluid; their viscosity is subject to change depending on conditions. As you said, Storm, ketchup: if you shake it up, it becomes less viscous. Another example: silly putty; you can bounce it and it acts like a solid. Quicksand is a non-Newtonian fluid. If you move quickly, it acts like a solid and holds you in.

As seen on Mythbusters: Corn starch into water - if you hit it slowly, it acts like a liquid, but if you jump on it, it will act like a trampoline. You can't walk across it, but you can run across it.

Thanks for the peek behind the curtain and the answers to my question. It turned out to be a really interesting tangent and insight into the minds of P&S.

I like the suggestions of Wil Wheaton and JoCo for interviews. I think it would be entertaining if you joined forces with Len and Nora for a show.

Also, Jimmy John's is one my favorite places to eat. My friend from New Zealand is visiting and he insisted we go there for lunch today; I was happy to oblige.

Re: Swiss Family Robinson and the title: This is another of those random bits of info stuck in my brain, but the family isn't actually named Robinson. The original title translates to The Swiss Robinson as in Robinson Crusoe. I could give you more details, but that would be boring. Studious Minion's English degree must be useful(?) for something.

As far as the super secret thing related to an upcoming gig that you can't talk about... The other day, my husband and I were discussing your music, a certain upcoming performance of yours and what took place last fall related to this event. We're both hoping that what happened last year will happen again this year, but with the inclusion of your awesomeness. If this is your secret thing, for lack of a more eloquent way to say this: Oh Emm Gee! (I hope I was ambiguous enough there.)

Paul, how can you not like pudding?! It's so squishy and comforting. It can be eaten at any temperature. ...Now I really want some pudding. :-\

I don't think of myself as superstitious, but I did pick up the knock-on-wood habit from my grandmother. As for the "Fonzie theory", it sounds like Storm's unwittingly practicing feng shui by keeping ambient chi from coming at him too fast. (What can I say, I went through a new age-y phase in college.) And I, too, try to keep myself out of the way in public situations. It's been a running joke among friends and family that my goal in life is to be unobtrusive.

I'd like to second the "interview Wil". He gives good chat. I think getting the two of you and two or three of the RSC guys on one podcast might be so hilarious as to implode the internets, but it would be fun to try if you can. Or you could talk to the Arrogant Worms, since they'll be conveniently in the same place as you in the near future. :)

Nitpick -- It's BILL S. Preston, Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan. [/childofthe80s]

1. Downloaded the podcast via iTunes today (July 15) without any problems.

2. I think Wil Wheaton should be your first interviewee, since he is the Sec. for Geek Affairs. Others that pop to mind are: Weird Al, Leo Laporte, the Cinematic Titanic and Rifftrax clans, the Reduced Shakespeare folks, Dead Gentlemen Productions (when you're up in Washington state) and finally the Nuts on the Road crew....what can I say, I'm eclectic if not just weird.

3. In terms of sandwiches, give me either a Reuben or a BBQ pulled pork.

4. (fighting the urge to add a Pythonesque "there is NO..." and losing)

5. Wishing you all the best of luck with this "Supr Sekrit Projekt."

Hi guys, big fan of the podcast. If you were to start interviewing I would suggest someone you are very comfortable with, say Jon Coulton. You've mentioned him on several occasions but other than his goofy songs I don't know much else about him. Just a suggestion humbly submitted, my Lords.
