Voted for Joss – he made Kaylee, so it made sense.

Voted for Wil – I read his blog and own his books. Although I loved PAX, I have no real clue who Gabe & Tycho are. I only know they are cool geeks – ’cause Wil said so.

Oh the madness….the madnesss!

Gabe and Tycho raised millions for sick children while Wil Wheaton wrote a book about himself.

The winners here are clear.

I like to think of it this way: everything Kaylee says or does is all Joss’s doing anyway.

Wil and Wheaton, no question.

If they end up the finalists, I am going to have a really hard time making a decision.

And just saying, if I was to go by Angeltastic’s idea of geekdom, I’d be an anti-geek.

I’ve never coded and I’ve never gotten beat up at school. Anything math-related goes right over my head and computers crash at my touch. If you looked at me, you wouldn’t think geek.

But guess what? I think I’m still a geek (well, maybe more of a nerd).

You know what I’m not? A stereotype.

both have done a great job at proving geeks right against the idiots and doomsayers, and representing some of the best that our communities have to offer. I would be proud to have either.

In the end, I had to go with creator over creation, and the blog I read regularly over the webcomic I only read when someone else notes something cool in a particular strip. Plus, I know that Joss and Wil are already very politically active, and articulate to boot.

Oh, and Angeltastic, if you’re looking for an old-school coding geek, you should really go for Wil. He’s been coding his own webpage (http://wilwheaton.typepad.com) for years and years. While you’re over there, take a look around and read some stuff. He’s more author than actor these days, and he talks about a lot more than the TeeVee show that made him famous.
