Coultonfield

Being based in the Washington, DC area, we have many, many sources pocketed throughout all levels of the government. One of our most deeply-embedded moles has leaked the following footage to us. While alarming and disturbing, we believe it to be vitally important to the national interest, and have posted it here—likely at our own peril—for the benefit of our fans. Please forward this to everyone you know, so that we all might be better informed about this threat to our way of life, which our government is trying to hush up “for our own protection.” You can also download the full-size Quicktime and MPEG-4 versions. Trust no one. Spread the word. Don’t fall prey to the myth. Watch the skies. Do your homework. Be the ball.

I haven’t even seen “Cloverfield” and I can tell this parody is spot on–laugh out loud funny, in fact. Somebody should have given Paul a camcorder way before the San Francisco JoCo show.

Wow. I’m sure glad I got to witness this before “They” have it removed and destroyed. Green rooms may never be safe again. The horror! *shudders*

I had never seen (or heard) you guys before Friday night, and I had no idea the terrors you had to endure before taking the stage. Your focus (when not stolen) and humor in the face of danger is exemplary. Bravo, gentlemen!

Perhaps some of the Flying Menagerie(TM) could be borrowed from your cohort and used as bait to placate the creature before your next show?

I shall continue to watch my homework and be the myth!

I always thought Jonathan Coulton resembled a giant bat-turtle.

I can’t believe you said “It’s Still Alive” at the end. Shame.

Those “being gagged” noises sounded quite realistic, almost as if you both have experience in that field? Uh oh.

Very funny video, the part with the monster walking buy casually eating what appears to be some sort of soup product was quite good.

Storm, I guess I can’t be mad at you for not bringing us snacks. You died! But that would have been awesome.

We stood for an hour and a half in the rain to get good seats, but it was totally worth it.

It’s always nice to see grown men creating youtube videos that are just like the videos posted by 12 year old boys.

I’m a little disturbed at just how hard I laughed at that.

In spite of everything, “Trust no one. Spread the word. Don’t fall prey to the myth. Watch the skies. Do your homework. Be the ball.” is what made me rofl the hardest.

Was he in on this the whole time, or were you just screwing with him for the first couple times?

I’m going to go climb back into the TV now. It’s not safe out here.

If you crank your volume when it goes quiet at the end, you can hear the background voices…someone says the word “35” right as the timer is reaching 2:35.
